Sikorsky FIREHAWK® Aerial Firefighting Rescue Helicopter

Born a BLACK HAWK® helicopter, the Sikorsky S-70i™ FIREHAWK® is a proven, all-in-one aerial firefighting aircraft designed to stop fires in their tracks before they have the chance to grow.

Since 2000, FIREHAWK helicopters have played a key role in responding to the most challenging wildfires across the United States. Brave pilots and crews rely on FIREHAWK night and day through dangerous and deteriorating conditions that force other aircraft to remain grounded.

The FIREHAWK fleet proudly supports the Los Angeles County Fire Department, CAL FIRE, Ventura County Fire Department, Santa Barbara Fire Department, Orange County Fire Authority, and the State of Colorado Division of Fire Protection and Control.

The FIREHAWK helicopter brings enhanced capability and flight safety to its high-payload role: extra power margin when dropping water or inserting firefighters at the fire line; 4 g maneuverability when fully loaded; a stronger airframe; and greater water drop control.

A true multi-mission aircraft, the FIREHAWK can be quickly reconfigured in flight for search and rescue, hoist rescues and medical transport.

The future of aerial firefighting depends on innovative wildfire suppression techniques, including Sikorsky's optionally piloted MATRIX flight autonomy system.
