The Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) has operated a pair of Lockheed Martin F-35A fighters with a full weapons load for the first time. “This design feature allows Australian F-35As to be adapted to suit the threat environment and operational requirements,” says Mathew Harper, commanding officer of 35 Sqn.

Israeli F-35 stealth fighter jets are taking part in a large-scale drill in Italy, marking the first time that the fifth generation plane has been deployed outside of Israel for drills.

The Air Force’s fighter fleet, led by the F-35A, turned in a better overall mission capable rate in 2020, even with limitations imposed by the pandemic, than it did in 2019.

As the F-35 program continues to decrease costs of production and sustainment, the Lockheed Martin team producing the DAS window panels continues to play a vital role in that cost reduction.
